Multiple "...wins at X for the first time" for the same game?

I have seen a number of times where a player's Recent Activity section shows that they won a particular game for the first time many times. Am I interpreting this wrong? I scan their recently played games and I see Game X and the player won it for the first time. Then a couple games lower on the list I see the same game again and it also says the player won it for the first time. Does this mean it was won for the first time AGAINST THAT PARTICULAR OPPONENT?

It shouldn't do that.

It definitely doesn't mean that they won for the first time against a particular opponent. What may be happening is that the games are being played in Training Mode. When that happens, a win will trigger the "first win" message if wins are currently zero. However, it will not add one to the wins (training games do not affect statistics). Therefore, on a subsequent game, it will still think that there are zero wins, and will give the first win message.

There might be a bug tied to this, in that people could spam one game with an acquaintance (or a multi account) to get the experience points/prestige/gift points for winning a game for the first time multiple times.


All of this is conjecture, by the way. I may be totally off on what is happening.

It may have to do with the recent changes to the site with all the new trophies.

If it is your first win (or first game played) of a particular game since the trophy update about 5 days ago, then you get a message saying you won this trophy for 1st win, 5th win...whatever it is...even though this happened long ago.
