Interesting that traders and builders is not even an option
My personal opinion is actually that full expansions + strategic version is the least luck version of carcassonne

I like traders and builders best and I was sad that wasn't an option.

Considering the votes, you are almost the same number to prefer the current configuration than the "base game only".

This looks like a good solution to let the Arena current configuration as it is now, and to get back to "base game only" for Season 2.

After that, we will reconsider Carcassonne Arena options to create a "configuration cycle" which satisfy most of you.

Out of curiosity, is the Arena activity (games played / players) same in this season so far as it was in Season 0?

Well, basically that's what we've done, by alterning seasons.

There aren't enough tiles in the Basic version for 4 players, so our crew likes to add the River and Inns & Cathedrals expansions.

Well, basically that's what we've done, by alterning seasons.

I didn't know that the administrator are such a jester. Now I understand the sentence. " It will close on April 22th, and the Arena mode will be changed accordingly."

It does not satisfy most of us. Rather most of us would be annoyed, because there would some time the Arena mode is not on what we want.

When there are expansions, base game only supporters don't like it. And when it is playing base game, expansion supporters are disappointed.

It also make the Arena trophy not comparable across season. And players just get relegated for not playing for one season.

The best solution is to have two parallel Arena. And also two ELO systems should be implemented. One with base game only, one with expansion.

If only one Arena mode is possible. Then base game is the standard in tournament play and should be implemented. At least democracy should be respected.
