I still feel we should be able to leave a game if matched with opponent 2 or 3 levels below us.

Please fix this in some way. Either make the gear work, or add the feature where we must click 'accept' to play the game in arena mode like the other versions.
Yes, I am quite sure that this works based on your all-time ELO, not on your Arena rank. So if I'm a Good Player by ELO at a game and Diamond in the arena and another Good Player by ELO starts playing for the first time in the Arena and is Bronze, there is no way for me to prevent this game which has no benefit to me in the Arena. Seems like a flawed system to me.

I checked all your Arena settings for games where you have an higher league than Bronze.

I didn't see any restrictions on your opponents level.

So the system is trying to match you with players from the same league, but after a while it can match you with anyone, even Bronze.

If you want to change that, you should change your settings.

So, Thank you for that insight souridesert.
I was shocked when you said my settings were not listed that way and now realize I have not been doing my settings correctly. I thought when I clicked on "play with my level" that made that the setting. I did not know I had to go turn off the other tabs 'play with people below my level'. :o My son explained to me about that 4 bar system you use.

This shall hopefully help me and others in the future.

If I remember correctly, I told onyx puffin how to use game preferencies.

But there is a problem in matchmaking. My first 2 games in Pylos was against Elite player (one league above). And my preferencies - don't want to play far from my level

I played now maybe a dozen arena games. Most of them with elite players (in ELO terms at least 400+, sometimes even 700+). Im an experienced casual player, most fun playing around 200-300. So, my current Arena experience is no fun but frustrating. Also in terms of league the players had generally some fancy medal (way above bronze, silver, gold). The mentioned algorithm should bring more players with similar skill together, at least in the lower staring leagues.

Hello
I have try to restrict the level of the players at "play only with same level". I am silver in tokaido.
But, I have been matched to lower and higher level league player, sometimes elite.
Are you sure ELO is not taking into account ?

How are ties handled for top 1/2/10 players in arena mode?

Hello, I've noticed recently in a game where a player left (or got kicked) that the remaining players gained an arena points therefore it got treated as a win for them, just like in season 0. This issue has been brought up multiple times already but I'm adressing it once more since it appears nothing has been done in this regard. When in elite league a player with high EAS might be losing points when a player abandons or gets kicked which is very unfair, I may have had some bad luck but it happened so many times to me that i ended up losing something like 40 EAS points throughout last season through no fault of my own, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that other players had a similar experience, now 40 points (but even less) could be pretty determining for the end of season placement. So in my opinion something should be changed here, maybe make abandoning players lose points and the remaining players gain nothing, or having nobody lose/gain points but giving more strict penalties like not being able to access arena mode for some period of time (these are just the first random ideas that came to my mind). This unless there's a very good reason that I'm not seeing to keep things like that, but since none of the players that complained about this during last season got a response that i know of I'm guessing this issue just hasn't been noticed at all so I'm bringing this up again.

wallaceprime wrote: 19 April 2020, 08:55 It seems a little unfair to get zero Arena league points for winning against an opponent 3 levels below you (3 points standard minus 3 levels difference = 0 points). Half of the ten games I've won at diamond level have counted for nothing, which is very frustrating, especially since the current configuration for Carcassonne leads to much longer games. As a remedy to this, I would suggest either: awarding half points or a minimum of 1 point for a win, or block pairing competitors with a difference of 3 or more levels to avoid playing for nothing (or at least having an option in case you don't mind playing for just a couple of Elo points)
I agree!
