Help with notifyAllPlayers - Tables

Post by VanHlebar »

During various scoring poins in El Grande, I am sending over a notfication to the players and listing out a table of the scores. Is there anyway to control the size and location of this dialog? Currently when it pops up it is covering the game board and you are not really able to review the scoring matrix with the game board. Feedback today was that it would be good to be able to have the table show up off to the right of the game board and leave the entire game board visible for review.

Is this possible by chance?

Thanks,

Indeed if you use displayTableWindow, it relies on a modal dialog, centered in the play zone and with an semi transparent underlay.

So to allow players to check on the board without losing the result matrix, you have two options:
- allow to close the dialog, and have a button to show it again in the status bar (see koikoi project for example)
- include your scoring matrix in the game zone itself (that's what has been done for seven wonders).

Over all score is put there. There are a series of action cards that cause scoring to happen in between scoring rounds. What I am currently doing is to calculate the scores, then put them into the player log region by region. The issue is that with a 5 player game the log becomes SUPER long when this happens. This is only ONE card of 11 in that specific deck that can cause this to happen.

Also at the end of the 3rd, 6th and 9th rounds it becomes a scoring round. At the end of those rounds what I am currently doing is again scoring each region as per the rules and building a table. Then I send that table over to the player's to display that current round scoring. It does just fine in showing the points to the player, but you are unable to review the board with the table present as it usually covers the board up.

Based on the feedback from our play through yesterday, players would like to have that table, just have it moved over to the right so that it doesn't cover the board up so that they can review the board and the scores prior to moving forward with the next round.
