More expansions ?

Post by Enkidu of Abydos »

Are there any plans to add any more expansions for Carcassonne to BGA, and if so which ones and when ?
The ones I would most like to see :
-Princess & Dragon
-Phantom
-bridges (just the bridges, the rest from that expansion is kind of crappy IMHO, but the bridges are brilliant)
-Abbey & Mayor

My favorite expansions that we do not currently have are:

Abbey/Mayor/Barn/Wagon

Cult/Siege

These make the game complete for me.

Great idea!

I would be interested in adding:
- Abbey and Mayor
- Cults and Sieges

I hope your post gets some expansions added!

I think Carcassonne could use more tiles from the expansions, especially for multi-player games.

Some of the expansions have elements that are more difficult to program or play, but these may be ignored. The abbot has been ignored from the base game, for example.

- The River II mini expansion would add 12 tiles. BGG has a variant that I have play tested. Always use the "T" river section as the starting tile and let players add to any of the three river branches. Hold back one of the lakes as the final river tile. The remaining river tiles (including two springs) are given to players randomly, allowing players to add to any branch and to finish two of the three river branches as desired.

- Hills and Sheep (Exp. 9) adds 18 tiles; the shepherd special meeple is fun, but optional. Hills and vineyards may be too fiddly to program.

- Abbey & Mayor (Exp. 5) adds 18 tiles; the three additional scoring meeples (Mayor, Barn, & Wagon) may be options to toggle on/off in setup. I think the wagon is the best of the three.

My favorite extension is Hunter and gatherers. Its a standalone and therefore not easy to program i imagine. It is available only ib yucata https://www.yucata.de/en/GameInfo/CarcHaG but mostly turn based and a bit slow...

I've tried it there, but it doesn't seem that different from the regular base game, besides more theme and the way fields are scored, are there other differences?

Yes many differences ! Too long to explain in details, you should read the rules... Its a beautiful standalone with new rules...
