Max Production of Manufactured Goods Should be Default

Post by Troy_Peters »

Love this game, and love this implementation of it! It's fabulous!

One suggestion however: I've played this with many people who were playing on BGA for the first time. During the production phase almost ALL of them don't see the '+' button next to the manufactured goods and just click the blue button at the top to move on and then they are VERY upset that their factories didn't use their basic goods to produce manufactured goods, and there is no way for them to go back. Commence weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth and claims of "No Fair!!"

It is very rare that someone who has basic goods will NOT want to use them to produce manufactured goods during the production phase. The maximum production of manufactured goods from their available basic goods should be the default instead of the players having to remember to click those buttons to maximum production. This should be easy to change in the program. The buttons should still be there in case, for some reason, they DON'T want to convert basic goods to manufactured goods, but this is almost always the exception.

Thanks for considering this simple suggestion!

I understand your point but what do you like to see then at production time when you have 2 corns, 1 whisky factory and 1 bakery ? 1 bread and 1 whisky ? 2 breads ? 2 whiskys ?

Very true, the game can't know which combination of goods you'd want to have. Maybe instead there should be an alert if basic goods can be used to create additional goods to confirm with the player that they'd like to skip manufacturing from that resource.
