I know that is impossible to check thet there is network problem. But I think there should be right to one excuse for year.
For example. I played carcassone. I was wining (almost end of game- 2 tiles left on my hand and 0 on table), and I lost network connection . I tried reconnecting but when i had success i wasn't on table (probably someone kick me off). Before game I had 529 points. And I lost 44!.

If it isn't possible to give right to excuse so maybe you can give opportunity to send request to refuse panishment. In my example. Rest of players get points which they should get, but I would be 0 - no win no loss.
This Exception only in obvious situations like in my example. I couldn't loose that game and I would not leave table when i was winning. I thing there should be possibility to help people in situation like me. Maybe you can help somehow.
