Is it going to be possible to turn off trophies or at least the FULL SCREEN notifications? There seem to be so many (at least as a new player) that they are distracting.

Re: FAQ: new achievements & XP system
What decides what trophies are there for a certain game? Is there a list? For ex. I don't see Top 2 or Top 3 and others in every game.
Re: FAQ: new achievements & XP system
About a list of achievements: We once started such here: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... =3&t=15882
Not so much participation though, so not sure whether it‘s close to complete at least at the lower lvls.
About which game has which trophies: Afaik, it needs an ELO-requirement of above 300 so that the TopRank trophies awarded. So this doesnt happen yet in new games or in games with no high ELOs happening / too low activity.
Finally, if you were 1st as the achievements were introduced, and stayed there since, with your first game you get the Top1 trophy, but not the ones below (quite an issue imho, that hopefully will be resolved).

I like the new system
Random comment though: perhaps on the summary page only best achievement in each category should be displayed? As it is, multiple achievements in one category relegate other categories out (example: if I have achieved "played 500 games", then displaying "played 100 games" besides that is kind of redundant... and I might have other achievements that don't display because there's no room for them).

Re: FAQ: new achievements & XP system
Did anyone else notice that the Top 5 Arena achievements for Season 1 are doubled in XP compared to what they should be? I noticed when my Season 1 Arena Top 5 achievement in the game For Sale gave me 12,000 XP even though in Season 0 it was worth 6,000 and the other For Sale Season 1 achievements were worth 30,000 for 1st, 15,000 for 2nd, and 10,000 for 3rd, meaning that following the pattern Top 5 should be worth 6,000, so I am not sure why Top 5 Season 1 was worth 12,000. Are the Season 1 Top 5 achievements doubled in XP for other games as well, or only for For Sale? Also, in my opinion the XP for the different leagues (e.g. Elite League is worth 1,200 for most games) are overvalued compared to how hard it is to climb the leagues. It is relatively easy to get to Elite league in almost every game so long as you play it a decent amount of times, and the amount of XP you get seems to be disproportionately large. Maybe when they finalize the XP system they will fix the problem of Top 5 Season 1 trophies being doubled in XP and also reduce the amount of XP you get from each league.

Re: FAQ: new achievements & XP system
This is old, but this is quite a bad policy. The suggestion that games tend to stay in their respective "categories" is provably false, for example Battle of LITS, Cinco, Buttons, and Logger have all changed categories since this was implemented (I suspect many others have, these are just the four games that I have been in the top 20 that are not overwhelmingly popular). Also, the change in XP between the top 2 categories is quite drastic.sourisdudesert wrote: ↑23 April 2020, 14:23Well, we may do that. However, this case is very rare. Apart from new games, games tends to stay in their respective "categories", and for new games if your game category has changed this is highly probable than your rank has decreased.
The logic is:
_ you win an achievement after a game played, only.
_ the situation is appreciated at this exact moment.
I may looks "illogical" in some situations, but it has its own logic![]()
The policy (assuming it actually works) that achievement XP values are updated when someone plays after the category of a game has changed is nice, however there is a glaring issue. Suppose someone achieves a rank in a game while it is quite popular. Once it is less popular, that player is motivated to avoid attaining that rank again (or playing while maintaining their rank) as it will cause them to lose the experience they had previously (take andycupid in Battle of LITS for an example). This goes contrary to the design of this system to encourage players to continue playing once they have a high rank.
There is a further issue: once a game has decreased in popularity it is impossible to attain as much XP as those who played it before. It is unfair that new users can never earn as much XP for certain games as those who have been playing for longer, simply because those people played when the game was at its peak popularity.
The reasonable solution to this is to make it so games can never move to a lower experience category after they have already been in a higher one. I assume decay in the size of the player base is never so drastic that this would be unreasonable, and it would fix both of these issues while ensuring that no one loses XP they had previously gained.
