After the conclusion of the 1 Editon of 5 player TacPro Cup, based on the feedback I received from players involved and helped by the champion himself, Wreckage, I decided to start a League, keeping the games in the same format, of course. The reason behind it is this way all players will have the chance to play every week and to compete for the top positions in the rankings.
The Rules that willl follow in this post are subject to change at any point, so please keep posting suggestions, will listen to all of them, hoping to create a fair and entertaining system for this league.
5 player TacPro League! - Rules.
- The games will be played in 5 players, with these settings:
** Normal mode
** Real-time - normal speed +0:29 per turn (maximum 2:27)
** Tactics
** Professional
- Each weekend a round will be played, players being assigned to groups (of 5) in which they will play 4 games.
- Players will have to commit until Wednesday (6pm GMT) and post their availability for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- After each round players have to commit and post availability for the next one!
- In case there is no common hour to start a group, it will be played on Sunday, 8pm GMT (or at the most common hour)
- At the end of a game, players are awarded 6 points (1st place), 4 points (2nd place), 3 points (3rd place), 2 points (4th place) and 1 point (5th place)
- At the end of the round the points gained in all 4 games are counted and based on them the Rankings are set.
- In-game points are counted as well, being the 1st tie-break criteria.
- 2nd tie-break criteria is number of 1st places, then number of 2nd places and so on.
- After the commitment phase for a round ends (starting with Round 2), the players will be assigned to groups based on Rankings (first 5 ranked committed players to group 1, next 5 to group 2 and so on).
- The groups for Round 1 will be set based on the ELO (1-5, 6-10 and so on)
- The Rankings are based on the points gained in the last 4 weeks, which means that starting with week 5 the 5th week back results are erased from the Rankings.
- There is no penalty for not committing one week.
- There is no penalty for leaving a group before the end of the 4 games, but there is a 2 point penalty if it happens in the middle of a game.
- If there is an incomplete group or a group where a player or 2 don't show up, the games can be played, as long as there are at least 3 players present, the missing spots will be completed by non-committed players or by reserves if there are any in the last ranked full group.
- These non-committed players can join the league if they want and they are not bound to play all 4 games.
- In case there is an incomplete group with 1 or 2 players, this group will merge with the last ranked full group and after Game 1 they will replace the last (1 or 2) position (s) in that game. The players replaced will do the same after the game 2, on so on, until all 4 games are completed.
Round 1 will be played on the weekend 3-5 July.
