Game w/out time limit and losing player not making the final moves...

Post by Mr Panci »

Hello everyone,

Probably this issue has already surfaced in the past, but I wasn't able to locate the thread.

I've accepted to play a couple of games without time limits with a player who was (and still is) very active (on other games)... but, apparently, not anymore in those two games where he is clearly losing, and we just miss his final move(s) to end and score them.

I have already politely written to him, kindly asking for him to make the final moves (a part from winning, I would like to get rid of these games from my tables). He is not replying at all, so I suspect that he is just not wanting to make the final 'losing' moves.

What can I do?

Thank you.

There is nothing you can do. Some users are exploiting the 'no time limit' to avoid losses, as tables will automatically close with no ELO change if no moves are made after 40(?) days.

You can`t force that player to play out these games. However, you might be able to give them a red thumb?

If this is the case, I think that the platform should allow a way for signaling those players; it is clearly an unsportsmanlike behavior.
