Coloretto - add advanced scoring rules variation

Coloretto offers two methods of scoring: beginner and advanced. BGA currently only supports the beginner scoring method. How about adding the advanced method? These two methods are described in Wikipedia, but here is a summary:

beginner scoring method:
1 => 1
2 => 3
3 => 6
4 => 10
5 => 15
6 => 21

advanced scoring method:
1 => 1
2 => 4
3 => 8
4 => 7
5 => 6
6 => 5

As Wikipedia puts it, "[the advanced scoring method] can lead to usually desirable wild cards being a liability for players."

Sounds good. Can you then choose which color is the Joker, or will the Joker always be assigned to the highest number of cards?

Ive been playing quite some Coleretto these days. A fun little game

However, the Joker seems pretty good. So good that many people, including myself, often take it when it's the only card in a row.
Wouldnt it be good to make the Joker -1 point and + points for the card it resembles?

Then the incentive to leave it for another turn would be a bit bigger.

If in those advanced rules the Joker automatically is assigned to the highest number of cards you got, then tose advanced rules seem to solve the 'problem' with the Joker.

The rules (from my physical copy of the game) say, "At the end of the round, the players decide what colors their jokers are (each may be different)." This is without regard to whether you use the brown (beginner) or gray (advanced) side of the scoring cards.

So there's nothing saying the jokers must be assigned to this highest-scoring colors, or any particular colors at all; it's at the players' discretion.

For BGA, the application could simply choose the optimal color to assign the jokers to for the highest score for each player (and it wouldn't necessarily be the highest-scoring color up to that point).
