Coleretto: should Joker be -1?

Post by ElKitch »

Ive been playing quite some Coleretto these days. A fun little game :)

However, the Joker seems pretty good. So good that many people, including myself, often take it when it's the only card in a row.
Wouldnt it be good to make the Joker -1 point and + points for the card it resembles?

Then the incentive to leave it for another turn would be a bit bigger.

I don't think the site has anything to do with creating, let alone changing, a game's rules. They just host the games, using the rules and variants intended by their creators/publishers.

I know. They should host the games as they where designed, but discussing the rules ofcourse is possible.

well, having one joker might be good, might not be so good...

let's say one player takes a joker, and the other players, having more freedom, get 3 good cards for each. In this case, getting rush and taking the joker isn't the best option, is it? :)

Just today I played a game of Coloretto and at the end of the game I had the 3 jokers. I finished last! (game n°1720109)

Coloretto is a game of luck with a little bit of strategy. Having the possibility to take a joker is nice, but if you jump on them too quickly, your opponents might have the chance to get the cards they want.

Anyways, the rules are like that, and like someone else said, it's not the server that will change the rules of the game. It was intended like this by the autor of the game.
