I think your FAQ is biased, with the wallhack this is like telling you where players can be depending on their position where you last saw them and that would still be considered cheating. I still think you are tarnishing your name and I've reported this software on greasyfork, I hope admins reach out soon and you will take it down.

I've been lurking on this thread for the last couple days, and I'd like to chime in with a game design perspective. "Hidden but Trackable" is a category of information that is used in game design to play on the limitations of human memory. It is used explicitly on at least a couple other games implemented here, such as Madeira and For Sale.

This GameTek episode provides some very convincing arguments in support of the position that this kind of player aid should not be allowed.

The rules and material provided with the game represent the intent of the game and the designer. Hidden but Trackable information is controversial to be sure, but it is a part of this game. A player using this player aid would be playing a different game than others at the table.

Then what about hanabi on BGA ? It's not the same game with the info on the card yet it is one of the most popular game here.

I have only ever played it in person. There is nothing wrong with rearranging cards in your hand or holding them sideways to remember some clue you were given, but this adaptation gives substantially more information. I would say that it is not faithful to the original game. That is unrelated to how popular it is - I recognize that removing this tracking information would be a very unpopular decision, and that it may be better to just let it be a game that is similar to, but not quite Hanabi.

To several previous points, even if it is not faithful, everyone knows they are playing the same game.

Also hanabi is cooperative and it would be much harder to hold card sideways in internet implementation.

I dont see why. We used to play on some homemade implementation before bga adapted hanabi and in this implementation you were able to rotate the cards and move them around juste like real game.

In real life you can rotate them 90degrees but also 60, you have way more freedom. It can be done, but still main argument is it is cooperative, not competitive. It is not the first time in this discussion where you disregard main argument and nitpick the side argument.

How was I supposed to know which one was the main argument ?? We were talking about the matter of memorization in game, so in Hanabi the question is about "storing" information by rotating/moving card VS storing information on the cards. You said the fact that this was online would make it much harder, I was explaining why I disagree.
The fact that this is cooperative doesn't change a thing. As paramesis said, the game Hanabi on BGA is "not faithful to the original game", and yet it is still on BGA.

When I learned about Pythia, the feeling I got was that of concern and disappointment, not of happiness or relief. I knew at the basic level, this is tantamount to cheating. Please remove Pythia, please.

That's like your wrong opinion. And here is why: not competitive games can have all the cheats they want for the players, because they are not competitive, cheats there apply to everyone the same way, it is not like pythia AT ALL, and even you must see that.

Meanwhile I have 2 perfect examples of hidden but trackable information:
1. Bridge - tournament game with a long history where you can't look through collected cards (even tho you saw them) or you will be banned from tournaments.
2. Dominion - where you can't look through your discard and remaining cards in your deck.

Both of those rules are hugely important to both games it is the same case in 7 wonders.
If you don't like games like that (like 7 wonders) - don't play them, but don't make cheats, to solve your problems for yourself and a few cheaters.
