Is there a filter for language?

My friends and I do not appreciate being constantly told we can't swear or speak like adults when we are just gaming amongst ourselves. It's no one's business what language I use when with my friends. So is there a way to turn off that annoying warning whenever one of us drops an F bomb?

We feel our freedom of speech is being abused. I totally understand the need for children and strangers, but there needs to be a way to turn that thing off when playing amongst one's friends.

Freedom of speech applies to public places, and even within those places it has limitations (such as where pornography can be shown, and the "you can't falsely shout 'fire' in a crowded theater"). BGA is not a public place by that definition, though. It is a private service that allows anyone to join as long as they conform to rules of conduct. Some of those rules are a code of conduct with what language is acceptable to be used.

To do otherwise is to admit you are simply trying to impose your moral judgement, not provide protection from aggression. It becomes an infringement. You dont have business dictating how a group of friends communicate freely between themselves in a closed system.

Anyway, yes. Being able to disable displaying the pop-up and the message attachment would be great to have.

The thing is that if one of the friends decides that someone crossed a line and hits report then it become BGA's problem. I can imagine that this does actually happen.

I would suggest using something like Discord or Zoom to communicate between friends playing on BGA then it's not BGA's problem what anyone says.

Any player can be a spectator at a table. Just because you and your friends are the only ones who can play the game doesn't mean you are the only ones that can see the chat.

As mentioned before, there are other chat servers around the 'net that could be used. Or, one of you could become premium and open a voice chat for the table.

Turn based games where players log turns hours or days apart cannot use voice chat. We need text. I wasn't aware private games could be watched. Imagine taking a motel room and having language nazi's listening in and scolding grown adults. It's Orwellian the rationalization that says just because you offer the room you suddenly have these rights.

While anyone can view active games, you shouldn't be moderated unless you insult the spectator or go overboard. The context matters.

Private jokes

If a wrong action happened in a private circle (ex: at a game table, with no spectators), and if none of the present players reported the action, the moderator must consider this was a "private joke" and must not apply any penalty. In the contrary, if the wrong action is public (ex: post/comment on the wall), the moderator may consider this as a wrong action even if there is no report.

Note: In case a moderator discovers that this is obviously not a private joke, and that something must be reported, the moderator is allowed to create a report for the case. However, in this case, this moderator is not allowed to judge the report.

Your claim that the site is infringing and abusing your freedom of speech because it has a wordfilter you cannot turn off is ludicrous. It doesn't even prevent you from posting the supposed offending words.
