Getting -8 arena points when somebody leaves the game

This is getting ridiculous. Basically now some players can sabotage higher ranked arena players by leaving the game purposely. And what that player gets? Minus 10 arena points while I get -8.

When you get more minus points from other player leaving the game than plus points for winning the game something is badly broken. Why this is so difficult to fix? Can every one vote this bug on https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=17503. We need to be louder about this.

Yeah, that right, we should give like at least 1 point there (elite) and at least 0 there (diamond, platinum, gold, silver and bronze)

it is very sad this hasn't been fixed yet, 7 months into this new arena mode and none of the main issues have been addressed even as it moved out of beta and declared a 'great success'

I suspect the initial 'success' of this mode will be short lived if they continue to leave it as is and ignore all the problems associated with it.

I put success in quotes because that is what it's been declared by management who claim that the silent majority must love it because they are playing it, and the vocal minority on the forums shouting about all the issues should be ignored. People tried it because it was new, the success won't last.

Upvoted this bug. Alltough it will probably only hit a minority and not that current, it really needs to be fixxed.
For a mode calling itself 'competitive' it's a no-go you can loose points when someone else quits. 0 logic.
Fix should be that you can't get below 0 points in this case.

You shouldn't be getting any points (positive or negative), period. The game is cancelled, there are no winners.

Also, I think appropriate punishment is to ban quitter from playing Arena for certain period of time (i.e. a couple of days for the first offense, a week for the second, till next season for the third).

There's no way anyone prefers it, they have to be at best neutral. Do they think people are going into arena games hoping someone leaves so they can scrape out another few arena points?

You can go from a surefire +10 win to -8 because someone who's left 50 games recently gets frustrated.
