Being a merchant during Meiji era in Yokohama was an adventure.
Can you imagine? The city was growing, harbours opening to foreign countries, trading, exporting, different technologies and cultures were all pointing toward this we'll-known Japanese city: Yokohama.
In this fantastic game, each players are merchants trying to gain fame from a successful business, and they have to build their store, broaden their sales channels, learn new techniques, and, of course, respond to trade orders.
The game in itself consists of modular boards depending on the number of players.
You'll have to manage your president pawn, assistant cubes, shops and trade houses. Of course, you'll be able to buy some more of these during the game.
You can fulfil contracts, complete achievements, get some power, buy more goods, and try to be the richest merchant.
But that's not all!
There are multiple ending conditions.
Points are earned in many different ways. Majorities, money, contracts, technology, using or not using your pawns: a lot to discover and to master.
You guessed it: this gem designed by Hisashi Hayashi is one of the "hard" games we love and can't stop playing.
It's available for 2 to 4 players (preferably 4) and plays for about 90 minutes, so don't hesitate to play it in TURN-BASED instead of real-time
