My favorite board game that I don't see on BGA is "Acquire". This was originally a 3M bookshelf game. We have played it for over 50 years. It takes about 1.5 hours to play. It really requires 3 or more players. Every turn requires active strategic thinking, both short term and long term.

We have always played it with one added rule; Any player on their turn can sell as much stock as they wish. This allows a player to stay actively engaged in the game (buying and selling stock in pursuit of opportunities) instead of maybe being stuck with stock in a hotel that isn't doing anything.

I would suggest this game be added to BGA. What does anyone else think?

you should try King's Guild. It has a lot of similarities to Splendor, though ever so slightly more complex.

Ah, but that destroys the entire cash management part of the game. Do you try to get hotels you have stock in acquired so you can have cash, or do you have them acquire others so its value grows?

Also, when do you time the sale? Before or after the laying of the tile? Because if after, it would be quite easy to buy stock in a hotel at the top size of one price level, then add a tile to it to bump it up to the bottom of the next level (which tile you already had -- insider trading and all), and never have to hold onto stock during the normal long growth periods.

But, yeah, fun game.

Three immediately spring to mind ...

- Concordia (would be a PERFECT addition here! Easy to learn and highly replayable!)
- Root (recently purchased a copy and loving the artwork and gameplay - not ideal for this site though unless played with experienced players)
- Twilight Imperium 4 (Cannot imagine this being something that would be considered here! Haha!)

Aww, c'mon. Play it turn-based. Shouldn't take more than a year or so for a game.... XD

What? With the computer handling the accounting and speeding things up, you should probably be able to get a real-time game done in about 5-6 hours...

Yeah, yeah! Just joshing ... it wouldn’t work well given the game is VERY much about negotiation. I guess headsets and would do the trick, but I’ve no idea if that’s a common thing here? New to the site.
