Being moderated

So I was moderated for the first time this week because I called my own move stupid. !?!

I was moderated for saying "[Player 2] threw the game for the lady" (referring to Player 3) because they made a terrible play that helped Player 3. Player 3's profile clearly indicated female.

Player 2 did not have a problem with it, but Player 3 reported me either because (a) she was upset I called her a "lady", or (b) she was upset that I was suggesting she wouldn't have won had Player 2 not made the bad play.

I tried to challenge the moderation saying it was factual, but the moderator said, it doesn't matter why Player 3 was offended, just that they were and so the moderation stands.

I wrote back to the moderator that that is a slippery slope argument and can lead to an abuse of players reporting ridiculous things of being offended by and never received any further response from the mod.

It doesn't help that the chat filter quite literally calls for the users to block and report anyone that trips it, which of course some do.

As a European, I don't feel like the f-word is a big deal, unless directed at someone personally('you'). But I constantly see (mostly) Americans self censoring themselves in chats(also off BGA) and I don't get it, why bother putting *** instead of the remaining letters?
And anyways, if a site actively censors the word, that needs to be respected, by bypassing the wordfilter on purpose, you are purposefully breaking the rules, with good knowledge that you are. And that does deserve a form of action.

Well, that happened in "toc" the host of the game have made unfair teams (200 Elo vs 0 and 34 elo).
And whit a off is also sometimes targetting someone.

Moderation is broken, mostly decided on one sided "accuser is being followed"-logic without full context or regard for the entire situation.

This leads to a rather toxic culture of "reporting" even explicitly asking for counter-"reporting" in their instructions.

It is unknown, who exactly is tasked with this decision.

Beyond the actual moderation, the worst is yet to come.

Being moderated for even just one day (in my case it is almost 2 months ago), can lead to being LOCKED OUT of the entire site, including managing your own basic account data and BLOCKING basic functions like account deletion or in my case ENDING MY PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION.
This is due to the fact that the "moderation splash page" requires the moderated user to DOUBLE CONFIRM (check box & button click) that he or she
(1) AGREES and
(2) UNDERSTANDS the moderation and
(3) "PROMISES" to never do such a thing again.

Without this signature and acceptance of a possibly completely questionable ruling (depending on case) there is an INDEFINITE read: forever lockout from the site, even for paying premium customers (completely unable to stop the payment due to the lockout).

This in any case is grossly overreaching and completely absurd as it forces a de facto "admission of guilt" that is to be signed and documented by the double action. Not doing so means lock out forever.

Even more worrying is the completely illegal practice of barring any users (incl premium) from access to their basic account management features.
This is non-compliant and in breach with basic EU customer and privacy laws.

Additional areas of concern:
Unidentified personas (who did never answer the question "who is writing this email") have communicated about this with me via email including asking for my credit card details in unencrypted, unverified and unauthenticated conversation. I will not bother to mention that the general tone of communication was unprofessional and truthfully more ridiculing and/or insulting than the questionable moderation reason I was being moderated for.

All in all: do not trust whoever runs this website with your data, let alone your credit card details or become a premium member as comes with the risk with never being able to cancel again (as of today, I STILL do not have access to my basic account (7 weeks after a 1 day moderation) and personal data.

that's not great. I found it absurd I couldn't appeal and continue to play without agreeing to the absurd accusation. I had said 'stupid move' in reference to my own move but had to agree that I did something bad before moving on in the site.
It's concerning. I already am a premium member..!
