Time Zone displayed for turn-based games

Post by infinityorzero »

When I set my preferences for hours I want to play a turn-based game what time zone is displayed? Is it automatically set to my local time zone? Or do I need to convert to my time, G-6? If it is set to my time zone, does it detect that automatically or do I need to input my time zone somewhere?

Thanks!

I am fairly certain that a call like getTimeZoneOffset() is used. This means that the time will be displayed in the local time of the browser, and that is a system setting (not a BGA setting).

So, less cryptically -- times are displayed in local time, and you don't need to set anything for this.

From the times listed where I see other people hosting those fast turn based games, they're usually listed in the middle of the night for me (being on the other side of the world), so I believe they are local time.

I know tournament start times go local.

But also worth noting that if you're in one of the not-straight hour offset timezones, they're not 100% accurate.
