There is always someone to bring up this point, and it's still bullshit no matter how many times they do. Memorizing information and applying it to the context of the game is a big part of the skillset of every game, and I cannot believe we're actually arguing this on a website that already does so much to lay out useful information that you wouldn't have in real life. To the point that when I discover a game on BGA, I have a lot of trouble adapting to live play !
You don't see Belote players asking for a software that tells them how much cards of each suit are remaining, do you ? Or Carcassonne players wanting to highlight the tiles that haven't been played yet, 6nimmt players getting a recap of which numbers haven't been played yet, Kingdomino players getting to know how many desert tiles are remaining and how many crowns are there etc. There still would be strategy involved, just way less because the hard part is remembering that information all though the game, adding other information on top of it, applying it and still try to unleash your strategy.
Then why are so many 7 wonders players defending what is essentially removing a huge part of the skill required to understand the game ? So they can play with the brain off and just click buttons ?
It's absolute nonsense. All I see is cheaters trying to argue that using an word finder on Scrabble isn't ruining the game because you still have to decide where you lay out the best word the solver gave you.
