New Game?

Post by nurseJ2000 »

Is there any possibility of developing Azul (any of the versions) for bga?

The license is not available: https://studio.boardgamearena.com/licen ... ame_id=422.

It's always possible, if unlikely, that things have changed. You could reach out to the publisher directly to ask...

I've already sent them an email a couple days ago, so that's maybe better to not spam them about this.

If you don't have a developer account, you can't see that list.

There is some nuance to approaching publishers directly, especially for games where the license is listed as unavailable. From previous email correspondence with BGA admins, I've been advised that it's usually better to check with them first if they already have a line of communication with a publisher. It is indeed better not to approach the publisher we don't work with. It may look like doing a pressure on them and may make possible future collaboration more difficult.

Plan B (which is valid also for other companies they own like Eggertspiele and Pretzl Games) doesn't believe in digital implementations of board games and would not grant a license.

BGA would be absolutely delighted to have Azul among our games so be sure we did everything we could to obtain that license.

Hi, I'm quite new here and I was interested in developing the game Azul, so I found this topic.
Doing some digging I also found out that the current status of Plan B is "This publisher is working with BGA!"

In this link: https://studio.boardgamearena.com/licen ... her_id=224

Could you please clarify what does that mean? Does Plan B has any published games at BGA?

Did they change their mind after this post?

Many Thanks

I think that means they are in contact with BGA and thus give an official NO answer for both Azul and Century Spice Road.

That was actually a mistake. I updated this. We don't have a working relationship with Plan B at the moment.

I apologise for bringing this up, but I just read 2 articles here:

1: Asmodee joins BGA https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... =3&t=19638
2: Asmodee acquired Azul and Century https://www.dicebreaker.com/companies/a ... b-acquired

The only thing that I'm not so sure, is that the games would be available only for the UK? (https://www.asmodee.co.uk/news.aspx?id=86)
With that said, does the license is finally coming to BGA?
