Mutting for 5min a group chat

Post by Romain672 »

Hi,
So one of the way I use groups is by rejoigning group of people who wants to play the same game than me, and then just using the global chat to join or ask people to join a game.

But when people start to use the chat group to discuss, that became annoying. I can either mute all sounds of bga, leave the group, deal with it, or ask them to stop writing/write less.

Having an option to mute a specific group or table will be nice (if it's table, maybe still make the sound of start of game still happen i dunno).
Could be like discord where it's a global option into the group.
Or could be like Firefox where you can mute a specific tab.

I do have some problem with group chats (group, not tables chat) but a bit different. Your suggestion can only partially help in the issue I notice.

Sometimes I enter BGA and see - in the group chat - there is some heated conversation, typically regarding some topic that involves only the few person in the group. And it's a big group while the talking person only few, ... yet the others online are still bothered by it in log and chat sounds, even if they don't follow the discussion. So for these guys, it would be great to mute, both sound and messages appearing in the log (and thus distracting from the game they are in).

But also imagine you come online into something that looks like an arguement in the group you're the admin of, and you totally don't know what's going on. There might be a player nick mentioned with angry words. For such cases, I would appreaciate the possibility to load earlier messages - to learn more about a situation before reacting (maybe only for admins of the group, or for all in the group). Because right now I can only say "Hey, I just entered BGA and I see there is some kind of heated conversation here. Please post it in the group if anyhow group-relevant or continue privately." without a clue what started the arguement, so I can't possibly mediate nor warn about acting against the group principles if needed.
