Finding other beginner/intermediate players

Post by o_lass »

Hi there!

I'm relatively new to board games, but I'm hoping to increase the breadth and depth of my knowledge. I was wondering if there is any way that I could find new players or people willing to teach novice players. Is there a setting or a badge that we can use to match up with similarly-leveled players?

Thank you!

When creating a table, you can limit the table access. One of the filters is the skill level on BGA of the players. (I specify on BGA, because it is possible that a player has gained a lot of skill playing physical games/other websites, but will still be rated low on BGA.)

Additionally, you can create tables and put in the table description "Learning Game" or something similar, to alert people.

And, it isn't that bad of an idea to ask in general chat "Anyone willing to teach me a game?" or even "Anyone willing to teach me 'specific game'?" It never hurts, but just don't spam the channel if nobody responds.

Hi,
You could also join the Game Tutors group, and ask for players in the group chat (blue button at the top right of the group page). If you like turn-based games, you can also post a message on the group page.
