Save game function PLEASE

Post by zal_dman »

Last night, we played 4 player game Through the ages (friends game)... it took 7 hours!!!!

Surely there must be a way to save a game, and then reload it (with same players) in the future (eg few days, weeks)

Many fan-made versions of board games give this option, it creates a save file that can be saved on the host's computer.
Then it can be reloaded whenever, as long as the same players are playing.

OR are there any other ways to help alleviate this problem?
Eg changing the game off real-time for a week (eg the following weekend, when we all have free time again) and then changing it back to real-time mode??

PLEASE make such options available.
Regards, Salman

Just change it into a turn-based game.

Later on, you can always play a turn-based base as a real-time game, as long as you're all at the table at the same time.

Ah ok, that seems like a good workaround. Thanks.

Is there any maximum number of days it can be set to?
Eg if some players are unavailable for 2 weeks

Thanks again, Salman

You can configure it without a time limit

There is a time limit in turn by turn, no matter what and it's about 40 days if none play recently.

Can you? If a table turns to turnbased from a real-time table after the game already started? I'd love to know how, my tables usually switch to some certain setting (I think it was Fast tb or some other tb more than move per day). How to change this default setting?

The other (kinda) alternative is when you're playing with just friends, is to start your games as turn-based games instead of real-time.

You can still sit around the table at the same time and play as if it was a real-time game.
