First Wargame on BGA

Post by Lunalol »

Unconditional Surrender! World War 2 in Europe
I am very proud to announce the release of USE in BETA version on BGA.

Image

The game therefore becomes accessible to all BGA users.
The BETA version only features short-lived two-faction scenarios.

The other scenarios and especially those with three factions are available on unconditionalsurrenderalpha which will be released in ALPHA version. You can still join us to test ALPHA version, just send private message to me (Lunalol) on BGA.

Advice : use "TURN based mode", so you can create multiple tables and try to play solo (just fix number of player to ONE).

Have some nice games.

First Wargame on BGA

Some tips :
  • If you want to play alone, don't use hot-seat mode, just fix number of player to ONE, you will play all factions in the scenario.
  • Poland 1939 & Scandinavia 1940 are training scenarios, play them alone.
  • France 1940 & Balkans 1941 can be played alone or at two players, France 1940 is more challenging.
  • USSR 1941 & France 1944 are best played at two.
  • Main event 1939-1940 scenario need to know almost all the rules, most challenging !
If you find a BUG or a rule problem, please pause game and create a bug report.
Prefer turn based game.

No, there is a learning curve for this game.
Open the playbook and play 4 introduction scenarios in order (Poland 1939, Scandinavia 1940, France 1940 and Main event 1939-1940).
You have just to read some sections of rulebook and let's computer do hard think.

Good stuff, I've been having a lot of fun with this as someone new to wargames. The rulebook looked daunting at first but the scripting takes care of so much.

I wonder, would it be possible to add a button that hides the units? Sometimes it's hard to see if they're standing in a city hex, or to just otherwise see what kind of terrain they're standing on.

Also, I don't know if this is something already being worked on, but turn-based games would be sped up considerably if prompts only appeared when there is actually a choice to be made, e.g., players wouldn't get the "commit" prompt if they have nothing to commit anyway.
