No when setting up the game, but after it started

I will post this on bugs, but it is not loading on iPhone or iPad, and gives a memory warning on Mac Catalina.

My initial impressions are that the art is prettier but the UI overall is very confusing and unclear, and slow to use. Can we meet in the middle :)

New post to suggest improvements :

— Trying to emulate a true table, around the played cards, takes too much place. I got the idea to emulate the game irl. But we are on screen , not around a table. The former idea of getting all the players in on column took less place and get more visibility. And we gain room to put the played cards in this way.
— The discarded cards are not visible. On FF, I must scroll down to see white and multi, no matter how much I zoom out. We should not have to scroll down on PC to play.
— smaller cards.
— The booms lost in visibility as it's hidden behind the played cards. They would also gain to be separated from each other to see better how much we already got (0, 1, 2 … or too late)
— An arrow to show from where we draw cards could be a nice add as, in the actual interface, we draw from left and our partner from right (this is as irl, but on screen, it's disturbing).

In particular, the discard UI is very inconsistent with the rest of the UI (as it has no card icons, unlike the hands and play area), and the cluing system is very non-intuitive, more complex and wordy. Cards look great though :)

That said, I don't understand the view the old way was 'ugly' - was fine and clear to me and I have enjoyed hundreds of games that way.

Whilst our comments on the Hanabigf players page about the bugs we have found over the last 6 months have been noted and largely fixed I do feel as if our feedback on the visual aspects have been somewhat ignored. The yellow text for a player's name is too difficult to read, likewise the blue purple background makes it difficult to see certain numbers in the discard, which in itself is too small a font. The discarded piles are very important to achieving 30 and saving unique cards. Here some may get mistakenly overlooked. The tori behind the play mat is also a distraction. Someone has taken the time to design this picture but then obscured it with all the cards anyhow. I wonder if this bomb counter picture could be smaller and placed in a corner away from game play but where it could be admired in full. Perhaps we did focus too much on the bugs and not fully emphasise that some were too small too bright too dark etc. esp on mobiles and the way to give clues had become far more clunky than before. Clicking the text based clues on a phone is going to lead to more 'oops sorry fat finger' incidents.

Old version was not ideal but ok. New version is horrid. I can't play and will not play in it. I'm VERY upset :(((

This is just terrible. We have to scroll up and down on mobiles now. Why "fix" something that was never broken. The change to "old way" in Preferences does not work either. It looks exactly the same as the new layout.

You should not need to scroll on mobile.

Here's how it looks:
