How Can I do videochats in a group?

Post by datKerschtin »

Hi, I'm new here. :D
I created a group for my friends, to play together. How can I run a video chat while playing?

I couldn't find it in the settings. Can someone please tell me?

Thanks a lot.

The video chat feature is on a per-game basis, not as a session, unfortunately. For each game, at the bottom of the chat box there will be a camera (and microphone) icon to create a video (or audio only) chat session. You will need to create it, give your browser access to your microphone and camera, and then join the session. When you leave the table, the session ends and you need to create a new one at the new table.

Yes, it has been suggested that they stay persistent across tables, but that doesn't seem to be a high priority.

Okay, thank you. Than I will try it this way.

Or would it work if I would have parallel a WhatsApp audio chat open?

To be honest, after the influx of COVID players, audio/video chat has been a little spotty. Working with a system dedicated to that, rather than the add-on that BGA uses, is a more stable option.

I'd also recommend an external tool like Google Meet, it's just less cumbersome.

If you're looking for something more persistent, check out Discord.
