External DB-Tools / Slow phpMyAdmin

Hi all,

I was wondering if it's possible to use external DB-Tools instead of phpMyAdmin, which is really slow currently (and which I just don't like in general)?

I don't remember it being as slow as it is now. It takes 20 seconds just to open the page, and every action takes at least a few seconds.

I don't have a solution/alternative, but thought it worth chiming in that you're not alone; this is the thing that slows me down the most.

Checked it and the problem doesn't seem to be phpmyadmin, but directly mysql.

That's really annoying...

more than 10 seconds each time you're clicking anywhere.

click on the game, click on the table, modify a field... that takes nearly one minute. Shame.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution at the moment. If someone has a solution to the above mentioned mysql issue, please let me know.
Otherwise, solution could come from a DB upgrade or server change, but not sure when we'll have the possibility to work on this.

I suspect the problem is in phpMyAdmin, and would try isolating this by running some simple queries (just SELECT * FROM small_table would do) on the server's SQL command line. When I perform a SELECT * FROM a_game_table the SQL engine ends in a tiny fraction of a second, but the page takes a long time to load. This is backed up by my experience of playing games on studio; they are responsive (which indicates the SQL engine is responsive).

Did you check the link I have posted? The issue is connecting with a non root user, with native mysql client or anything else.

Just want to acknowledge that I was wrong, and found a way to witness this through our limited lens. If you go to the SQL pane and run "SHOW DATABASES", then turn profiling on then (at time of writing) you get about a 5 second period spent "executing".
