Option : "Play all cards"

Post by gorbatchef »

Hello,
I've always considered the end rule very frustrating "Play only one turn each after the last card is drawn" and so i have always ignored it. This rules lowers the score to group with bad luck on draw and doesn't bring anything good to my opinion in a cooperative game.
Could it be possible to have a game option at the creation of the table to ignore it ? Option "Play all cards"
Thanks.

Since this option is included in the original game rules, it seems like a reasonable request.

I have this game in several verions, but I have never see or hear that option.
We should hand in which versions contain it officially, and it will be possible to be implemented.
It will be very easier than current game.

It's variant 4 here https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... mdLnHknfp6

I'm in the USA and these rules are in the game that I bought.

We use this variant in France too.

The official rules: http://www.cocktailgames.com/wp-content ... s_BD-1.pdf
"
VARIANTE «BOUQUET FINAL»

I posted a similar topic not realizing this already existed. The rules linked on BGA even state this variant. It's called crowning piece. However, that variant says you must achieve perfect or you fail.

That said, I think both options could exist.

1. "Play all cards" - This is what you're talking about where you can keep playing past the last draw but you don't need to get perfect.
2. "Crowning piece" - This is what the rules state and you can only win if you get all 5's. (This should come with a warning that this is not recommended for new players)

If you change endgame to "play until all cards are played", you cut out an entire, interesting part of the strategy (but I won’t spoil).

Had a lot of games ruined by a deck-bottom 2 or 3? Then find a way to counter that and become less luck-dependent ;-)
Learning and finding out how to max out your average score is the whole fun of this game.

That's not the point of this conversation.

You may or may not find it more interesting to have, and that it cuts out a part of the game, however I had countless game with friends and multicolor cards where we just had the 1 or 2 multicolor at the end of the deck, or we just played a game tonight and two 2-green were in the bottom 5.

The fact is that the official rule allows this variant (in french it's even called "for expert") but it's not available, which is very frustrating in our opinion.

You can add it as a suggestion: https://boardgamearena.com/bugs?game=1015

Post the link here afterwards, so people can vote for it.

Please don’t add it as a suggestion. There’s already a suggestion for it. Find that, and give it a thumbs-up.
