It isn't bga's fault, the same publisher? for Hanabi is also responsible for Jaipur, and Jaipur got removed from another popular free boardgaming site, it wasn't removed from here, but it got turned premium instead. which is better than having it removed entirely.

Who made the decision to make it premium? Not the publisher.

Fuck it, I've been here for years, Making Hanabi Premium to start is about the only thing they could've done to make me hate BGA.

You know that this website is totally free right ??

Go play with the physical Hanabi boardgame if your are not happy.

By the way, on a sidenote, a prenium membership is less expensive than the cost of a physical boardgame.

And yes, The publisher decide which game can go on BGA or not AND if they need to stay prenium or not.

BGA have an agreement for each game with the publisher.

So if a publisher want to remove a game from BGa, he has the right to do it

Buying jaipur + hanabi is cheaper than buying premium.

But people are used to playing hanabi as team.

Jaipur being premium... i am ok with that.

Hanabi on the other hand is a bad decision to do so. People play hanabi here cos they can play with friends because its a team game. Premium will actually stop them from playing. And players who can't enjoy the game will never buy it irl either because they can't enjoy it here.

As I told you, that's the publisher decision to make a game premium or not.
If you don't like this decision, go on the publisher webpage to tell them about it.

Do you think BGA owns the rights to the game or something? BGA is more like an intermediary. The owner of the game decides what happens with it -- if it gets made here on BGA in the first place, if it's premium or not, how it looks like, everything.

Why are you blaming what's technically a third party for the decisions made by the game publisher, who by all rights can dictate what happens and doesn't happen to their property?

Hmmm...
Even if Premium, you can still play it.
You just cannot create a game as a free member.
But you can join as many of them, as you want.

If you were able to play at home with multiple accounts, you wouldn't have to pay for any games.
Publishers, game designers and illustrators are working on these games and we're distributing them royalties for their hard work.
If you could play online together without buying the game, how do they can survive ?
Wish you understand why we have a limitation onto this on some aspects.

Being Premium is a choice from the publishers.
And it doesn't forbid you from playing it for free.
You just can't create your own table.
Thx.
