He played 21429 games, and he got a "COMMANDER IN CHIEF" badge, which is for "40000 victories on BGA".

That's so weird..........

In addition:
I've played so many real-time games before, and I still haven't get my "REALTIME GAMER" badge.
I've played more than 10 games before, and I still haven't get my "MULTITASKER" and "MULTITASKING SPECIALIST". I assume these two achievements are for playing that much of turn-based games simultaneously.
I've won more than 50 games overall, and I still haven't get my "50 BGA VICTORIES".
I've sponsored a person before, but no "SPONSOR" badge.

Wondering where are those... :(
Hi WiAiC,

Commander in Chief is given for 10000 victories, but the description was wrong.
Multitasker etc. are, as you supposed, for games played in parallel.
In general, achievements are being worked on at the moment. Some weren't distributed retroactively.

Hi sprockitz,

the server can't cope with the sheer amount of achievements you have
Joking aside, the server actually times out while fetching your achievement profile. I'm working on improving performance, but it'll need some time to get right.

JCam wrote: 29 November 2020, 23:58 I just reached top 20 in Bobail but didn't get a trophy. Any idea why or how to get it? My elo is above 300 so I know that's not the reason. And I played another couple games to see if that would fix it but no luck. Thanks.
Hi JCam,

I'm currently working with BGA so I might shed some light here.

There are thresholds for the top elo achievements.
In order to gain the top 20 achievement for a game there need to be at least 1000 active players.
For the top 10 achievement the number of required players goes down to 300.

I checked for Bobail and there are currently 945 active players, so you could only get the top 10 achievement or invite 55 friends to play it ;)
Interesting. Thanks for your response. I think I understand that stipulation in theory, but in practice it doesn't make much sense to me as top 20 has been awarded previously and elos remain high. Also the elo threshold to break into the Bobail top 20 has been rising over the last few weeks. I certainly won't be losing any sleep over it though!

Also, what defines an active player? Somebody who has played at least once in the last 60 days?

Edited for clarity.

ok, but don't be coy! what is the precise requirement for night owl? winking "maybe i'll tell you" vagueness is only fun for the vague person! :P

Just a quick question if you don't mind.
I'm here mainly for the games rather than the achievements, though I did like seeing them pop up!
Do you no longer get achievements in training mode?
I tend to just play with close friends and we always stick with training mode so we don't have time limit constraints etc.
No problem either way, just wondering :)

Hi Heroic H,

I'm glad you ask because there have been some internal changes on how the amount of victories and played games are calculated.
For victories it is quite easy: A victory is no longer attributed in training mode (as your question suggested) or for alpha games.
As for played games, we now separate the amount of total played games and the "real" games, meaning neither training mode nor alpha games.

So victory based achievements can only be earned in ranked games and for games that are at least in beta.
Achievements for the number of played games are still based on total games played, with the "Sprint" achievements (play x games in 1 day) being an exception. This may change soon however.

Overall, achievements are still being worked on and there are new to come!
I hope this clarifies some of the confusion the changes created :)

If you're working on this LeSteffen, how come your posts are not purple?

The overall prestige / trophy thing is unfathomable. If i look at my list, there is no way of knowing how or why or where it would be best to earn more.

You could have faded out trophies that you are yet to earn if you click 'show details' or something.

My current highest XP game is coming from a game I played 9 times with 5 victories..?. Yet I am top 1 ELO, top 3, and top 5 in quite a few other (more popular) games. The comparison between games makes no sense.
Do you need to retrospectively award these trophies where they are due?
If different games are 'graded' differently then you need to show this somehow.
Overall there needs to be more transparency, it just looks like a mess of numbers.

I've played >6000 games, occasionally I come across some other players with a few 100 games and they have more XP...
Where have the 'most games/victories played' trophies gone? Wouldn't one of these be at-least equivalent to Arena season champion?
1 achievement of Arena season champion brings 60k points, where a player with 10,000 games has a grand total of just 12k points. And this player has most played games in 2 different games:
https://boardgamearena.com/player?id=83 ... n=prestige

Why are numbers so high for things like Arena Season champion? It's like an exponential increase. Far too much emphasis is placed on #1 compared to #2, '#5, #10, etc. I would have thought a better range would be #1 is double #10 (or possibly #20).

Hi,

I've recently reach top1 at Stone Age (891 ELO a few days ago) but did not unlock the top1 trophy.
Same thing for Can't Stop. I'm currently 5th but did not unlock top 10 or top 5 trophies.

What is happening?
