3p: 12/6/0
2p: 12/0

This makes the rankings between first and last more equitable, in my opinion, and I think using 12 points for first means that ties will always pay out in round numbers.
Oh, this is a nice idea !
...until we have a 5, or 7 players table ^^

I'll check more on this idea though.

Now that tournaments can have more than 2p matches and aren't as easily discerned on the "my games in progress" page, could there be added something to tell them apart from other tables (like arena games already do)?

Loving the multi player ability...few ways to make it even better.

I second a quick link to registered tournaments.

Also more info in tournament overview. Number players and rounds in the tournament should show in the summary. Also in summary show game settings for those with multiple options.

During the swiss v2 I cannot see number of remaining rounds, this feature would be really useful.

For turn based swiss ability to drop out (or auto drop out if you time out in multiple games) would be nice...some tournaments last a long time and unexpected things come up so allowing someone to drop out (instead of timing out and ruining the game for others) would be very nice.

For games that don’t finish let all players with positive clock share the win and negative players the loss...instead of ranking by time remaing. So 4p where 2 have negative clock would be a score of 5, 5, 1, 1. With only 1 timeout it would be 4, 4, 4, 0. This avoids punishing people who still have a positive time.

We found another corner case, where points in tournaments don't quite work out! In a tournament for Ninety-Nine (which requires 3 player games), we had one player not show up for R1. The other two players in their game received a shared victory, so with the 4/2/0 payout they each received 3 points ((4 + 2) / 2). However, in the next rounds, the two players who could not play a game because they didn't have a third each received 4 points - being credited with a full win because their game had to be skipped. It feels like these two situations should pay out the same numbers.

A very important feature, absolutely necessary :
as a Tournament Manager, could we launch manually a tournament, or delay the start
in order to get people to register last minute and complete when a multiple of X players is required to have smooth pairings

The problem is if players do register days in advance, some forget about it, some players don't show up.
If I ask them to register only 10 minutes before launch, always one gets 1 minute late and is not included.
And no possibility to look for a substitute then.

I tried to ask everybody to show they are present before inviting them.
But then a connection problem or a phone ringing, or a kid, and the player is delayed a couple of seconds...

That would help so much!

Thank you very much for getting this new system set up! We are really enjoying the ability to set up casual tournaments with our friends. :-)

We have, though, run into another case where the pairings don't seem to make sense. We just started a Small Islands tournament with 11 players, set for 4 player games. Instead of the tables being 4p/4p/3p, we instead got 4p/3p/2p/2p. This is for round 1, so previous pairings aren't an issue.

Thanks!

Indeed, the matchmaker did prefer 4/3/2/2 instead of 4/4/3.
I don't know why (but this matchmaking algorithm is not as simple as it seems 😅).
It should be easy to fix, though.

Another case where I'm seeing unexpected results after attempting to create a tournament with six-player games:

After someone dropped out at the last minute, the tournament ended up with 59 players, and rather than have 9 six-player games, and one 5-player, as I would have expected, we got:

three 6-player games
seven 5-player games
one 4-player game
one 2-player game
and a partridge in a pear tree. ;)

The text in the tournament creation page says: "Matchmaker will create table with this number of players, as possible."

It would be very useful to get some data on what proportion of games result in a player running out of time (I'm thinking here primarily of turn-based games). I think that this will be a greater issue with multiplayer games and having something that would give some guidance on where to set the player time would be useful

Ok, this was indeed a bug.
This should be fixed in the next release !
