I usually set karma to 85% in TURN BASED games to avoid newbies. Because they r likely to join and not going to move after joining.

I like playing ones that play. I feel in general that there are enough that are good that I don't need to expel them for the sake of the bad.

Although I also usually play arena mode, so I might not actually encounter all that many, and the ones I do I'm new at that game myself.

Arena mode, u need elo100+ to join,so no newbies in that case. And I dont like newbies ISNT for that they might be bad, but they r more likely to be overtime.

Newbies to BGA or newbies to the specific game?

As newbies to a specific game usually don't go over the time limit thats fine with me in most games.

I myself often play as a newbie without knowing the rules beforhand. For most games that works just fine, I only need more time within the time limit and play most of the time only on desktop because of the better tooltip accesibility.

In some, more complex games, however I feel bad for the more experienced players. But so far I didn't have any complains. But still I would prefer that this games wouldn't be suggested in the lobby.

What I do when there is no active round based table waiting for me: I just click on "Play now" from my suggestions. And then it's possible that I end up in a game where the rulebooks are more complex and I don't have time to read them immidiately. -> For the first couple of turns it may take almost 2 days per move from me, as I wait till I play on desktop.

Isn't this frustrating for other players?

With this games not shown in the lobby suggestion box but only as sugestion on the "more games list" this could be avoided as I take the time to read the game description first.

Maybe that's the case with newbies running out of time as well? That they don't expect the game to be complex and then instead of telling the other players just leave the table without playing?

Well then u should read the rules, or at least go through it very fast to see if u even want/ r able to play this game.
