Starting the mid campaign?

We’ve been playing 3 player campaign. A friend would like to join. if we start a new game and pick a specific mission, will be able to move onto the next mission automatically or will we need to select a new mission each time?

With current implementation, you will need to select the new mission each time, because the legacy data is stored/restore only in campaign mode, and depends on the team composition, to make sure the history always go back to mission 1.
