Playing arena or simple mode

Hello world !

I'm quite newbie on BGA and usually played simple game.

Playing arena mode will only give me an idea of my level ? So what's the difference with the ELO system ?

I don't understand the meaning of playng in arena mode.

If you are in doubt, you are never wrong in playing simple mode. E.g. to get *just* an idea of your level, it's sufficient to play simple mode since your Elo will resemble your skill after a while. Your Elo value converges and stays in a roughly fixed value range after some time.

The big difference with Arena is that Arena score / Arena level get reset every 3 months, so it is more or less a seasonal championship. If collecting points and climbing up ladders and leagues is your thing, then you can try Arena.

I think I will alternate 'cause I will miss some strong oponnents in playing in only one mode.
