I also could not figure out how to serve a guest and ran out of time clicking everything possible. It would help if the rules included a “how to play this game on bga.” Maybe I’ll try again now since you’ve posted how.

I'm having issues with the mechanics of buffets and stealing. I ave what is required to open a buffet and selected the cards. Now what? Same with stealing. The only options i get are to satisfy a guest, draw a dessert, and dump desserts.

Am I misunderstanding the rules. I take the rules to be, 1. draw a card, 2. reveal a new guest, 3. try to satisfy a guest. This does not appear to be how the game is playing online. I read the rules and watched a tutorial, and got the same information from both sources. Perhaps, I did not understand my very first turn?

Yes, you've got the rules right. What is the online game doing differently?

Are you trying to do all 3, as if they were 3 phases of a single turn? I almost fell into that, myself.

You need to be playing the advanced rules. If you did not get an option to poach guests, then you are not playing the advanced rules. I think the game administrator sets the choice of advanced rules or not.

I notice that the buffet option is a fourth turn option. When I played my first game of advanced rules, I was asked to discard one of my satisfied customers during someone else's turn. I think that happened because another player opened the buffet and I lost the buffet. But I am still not sure how the buffet works. My best guest is that when another player who opened the buffet, all the opponents, including me, were required to put a guest of our choice back to the middle. The player who opened the buffet then drew 3 cards and was able to serve my guest.
