I suspect some of the lighter ones would be palatable to a larger audience. Some of the mid weight ones would be great but even more popular would probably be the Lunchtime Series. I certainly hope that GMT gives permission for something from the Lunchtime Series to be here. Even having one of those on here might promote sales for the whole Lunchtime Series. Say, Gene, I hope you're listening ;-)
There is something that you gamers have a hard time understanding.
If a game is on BGA it's not because you like it, but because an anonymous, volunteer developer had the crazy idea of wasting hours and hours developing a game that he likes.

So don't expect too much that another GMT game will appear quickly on BGA, the investment is too large. (for example, see what a wargame costs on the m.tr.x game website). But if you want to discuss so that will be next, I will let you create a dedicated chat room.

The next ONE, but not for this year, should be, perhaps, next Salvatore Vasta one:
- USE mechanics applied to WWI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKmTb9p_jwQ). If Sal agrees, let's pray for it.

Because nobody has yet bothered going to GMT website (same for some other games) to find the official links and add them to the game page.
Anyone can do this (not only the developer or BGA team). I've done part of the job :
USE page on GMT website
Anyone can copy the links and add them.
Sorry, but GMT links are all too OLD, living rules are on BGG only.

Congratulations on a magnificent achievement.
I program war games also and I know the pain you have gone through.

Also, huge thank you for your, essentially professional quality support during beta.

I sincerely hope you are rewarded more than just the kudos on here.

Hey Lunalol,

First of all, HUGE thanks to you for the countless hours put in. I'm sure that you must have put in one of the largest total amount of hours of any implementation on here, if not the absolute largest. Wow, just wow. I've only played the first 2 scenarios back in early alpha, hope to play more before long.

To your point, I think we might have both been talking past each other here. I'm fully aware this isn't going to happen without someone willing to put in a massive number of hours, but of course the lack of license is a hard stop on the project too, yes? My comment was only to address the latter bit, not to discount the former. I'm sure the difference in effort is laughable. The publisher has but to say yes. Hard to compare that effort with the effort you put in.

I'm curious on your point that the Sal's WWI would be the logical next GMT here. I've nothing against that, I'd totally love to see that happen! But am curious to get your thoughts. We're talking volunteer time here, and one of the lighter offerings would be a lot less work, so wouldn't it be more likely that we see a volunteer willing to put in the time to get, just for example one of the GMT Lunchtime Series like Fort Sumter on here? Of course talking about probabilities is not guarantee, hence UCS being the first GMT on BGA. I would have put money down that this wouldn't have been the first one :-)

Just expressing my ignorance here, but what is the m.tr.x site? My search didn't turn up anything.

I've a few other questions, I think I'll PM you as that'll probably be simpler.

Cheers and, again, thanks!
Jeremy

Anyone have any advice on how to even begin to get into this game? That rulebook is pretty itimidating! Also, I've never played a serious tabletop war game, but I'd like to try!

This game is daunting indeed. I think it is not a good introduction to war game. If you want to start enjoying war game on a large scale, I recommend path of glory. Or twilight struggle, arguably a war game, but the feeling is there. Combat commanders are good tactic ones. If you want something lighter, Commands & Colors are among the best choices.

When I read the first comments, I really thought they were ironic.

Then I was disturbed.

For me, this website was a great place to come together with people from all over the world, to have fun.

It makes me feel uncomfortable to see such an enthusiasm to reenact this world dividing war.
