7 Wonders Duel - who's starting ? (age 2 and 3)

Hello,

My question is : "what determines who's starting at age 2 and 3 ?"
In the "real life" version of 7 WD, the one starting is the one dominating at war, or, if it is equal, who was the last to play at previous age.

My personnal experience in BGA is quite chaotic for this aspect. I don't understand what governs the first to play, because the one dominating at war often does not choose who's starting at next age.

Am I alone to have observed that ? Could we turn buck to the "real" rule ?

I'm almost certain this is the contrary (so either you misread the rules, have a mistranslated rulebook, or mistyped this message). The one loosing the war is starting. This is one of the main reason why taking red in Age I is a bad idea, as it prevents you from starting in Age II.

The player with the weakest military chooses which player begins the next Age. A player has a weaker military if the Conflict pawn is on their side of the board. In a situation where the pawn is in the middle of the board, the player that chooses who begins the next Age is the last active player (meaning whoever played the last card of the previous Age).

In my experience, the BGA implementation follows the official rules. But I didn't play that much.
