Please can someone explain why only Reviewers can play Alpha games.

Because that's the purpose of the alpha process.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

On the one hand I agree with the criteria to play Alpha games; however, on the other hand I disagree.

The reason why I disagree is as follows:

I like 13 Clues which is an Alpha game and I had to write to the developer to be added to the Thirteenclues players group.

There are 518 members in this group, less than 10 players play this game on a regular basis.

I know a number of players that would like to play 13 Clues; however, are unable to do so because they are not Reviewers.

How can this game be tested and played more often?

If the developer needs more playtesters, he has the possibility to invite players.

If some players are passionate about the game, they can ask the developer to be added to the group like you did.
