Tournament game - opponent out of time

Post by Lusakajoe »

I'm playing Carcassonne Calvito Cup Carcassonne Swiss Cup, and my opponent, who is winning by sme distance is out of time. How do I resolve the issue for the tournament. I have an option to skip his a turn but that is all about continuing the game. The game should stop with my win. Any suggestions as to how to force this? First time I have played such a tournament. Thanks

Losing on time is not correctly implemented on this site. If the total time for the game is reached and the game is not yet finished, then the player with more time left should win. But if you do not play at all now and just wait, it might happen that your opponent can kick you out of the game because you are not playing. Not sure, though.

You could play very slowly (1-2 moves per day) so as to not finish the whole game in time.

A different way is to kick your opponent out of the game (skip his turn seems right) but he will get bad karma.

Another way is continue the game and let your opponent win. His win will count even if he has run out of tume.

No easy decision for you since the platform does not cover the case...

Thanks, at least I understand the options now. I think my opponent should somehow abandon the game as he has failed to play within the permitted timescales. WHether he will or not .....! If I was close to him I would use skip turn to try and win, but I am too far back for that to work. Maybe I'll be nice and just continue playing and see what happens.
