Making spectators of friends

Sometimes, I want to start a game among friends and have one or more participate as a spectator. How do I set up such a table? The last time I tried to start a game with "too many" friends BGA did not let me start the game.

Start a game with only the "players".
Share the URL of the table to your other friends. When you go at the URL of a table in which you're not a player, you're automatically a spectator.
(Alternatively, your friends can go on your profile, look at the games you are currently playing, and click on it to become a spectator)

Note that some games are quite boring to watch as a spectator, like Hanabi where you see none of the hands (while IRL you would see all of them instead).
