Hi! There is a group of us that have been getting online for a couple hours three times a week to play games while zooming at the same time. We do a lot of playtesting for physical games, but are still in cities with COVID lockdowns so have been doing all our gaming online. I’m a reviewer level, but they are still (rapidly) getting their playcount up high enough.

If possible, I’d love to have them in on the alpha testing of this so we could be playing it during our game nights. We’re always happy to provide notes about what we see.

Their user names:
dan_peterson
jphillipson

mgaler

Hopefully we can loop them in!

I added a page for the rules to the wiki (ganked from the BGG rules PDF)

also added a tips page to the wiki

My group of gamers played a 6 player walk through last night and found some of the same things already mentioned... I submitted it as end of game feedback, but since that's not visible here think I'll repeat it here:

1) green/orange hard to tell apart for some (we have a color blind player), having the icon on the meeple would be helpful
2) using the controls to move a meeple means it's easier to double click or have 2 players with the same control double; generally not that big an issue except that you may land on a timer "too soon" or teleport away
2a) so allowing clicking on the pawn to "take possession" as some have mentioned would resolve this
3) the legend card appears and then disappears; should stick around
4) no hover text, the leaving alpha guidelines I saw indicated this was a must
5) clickable control spaces are hard to find/click sometimes (the arrows on the pawns are tiny, the controls in the lower left are better but not awesome)
6) board should be scalable/magnifier (to see the entire board)
7) meeple on teleport hard to find, same is true for item theft squares, having a "show me Hero" might be nice (as noted by another, not necessary on a 3D play board)

I love the idea of escalator double click like vortexes

I've pushed a new release, 210214-2029, which improves the interface for a variety of long-standing issues:
  • There is now zoom (technically the previous set of releases)
  • Search can now done on the grid, with the preview titles automatically populating in the locations that they would show up in. This works for the mage as well.
  • Escalators can now be clicked on. The hover mouse cursor changes as a hint for the fact that this operation is available.
Here's a preview image of a few of the enhancements.

Great work! Quick question:

How did you get zoom to work with the scrollmap? Could you give me readonly access to Magic Maze?
