Automatic lobby and Special settings

Post by Romain672 »

Hi,
Actually, I'm having many problems with people comming from automatic lobby who would join my game without even checking the settings or checking what I ask in the description.

I can take the great example of Tranquillity, a coop game.
The base game is pretty simple. Lots of players just join games because the game is easy and don't require much thinking.
But you can add lots of difficulty with the settings, at which point where a single player who just play for 'fun' and not much 'tryhard' could totally make the game totally unfun because the difficulty require no or few 'mistakes' (for me).

But at the same time, the automatic lobby is done for players who doesn't want to check settings too much. Asking them if they want to play with X thing is pretty annoying.

Am I the only one to have this problem?
Do you see any solution for me? Or suggestions for bga?

If you select training mode, no automatic player will join the table. In fact, "training mode" is the nearest we have from a "casual mode". Unfortunately, there is no way to have a training mode with a clock, even one that gives no penalty and is just here as a indicator of how much thinking time is expected.

As for suggestions on BGA, it would be great to have options for games where every player is by default put on "Never play with it", so that only players that willingly enable this option gets matched to such a game. Then, when BGA enable this, devs of specific games could add an option that has no in-game effect but says that this is a "casual game" (kind of the opposite of Hanabi's convention options)
