A few days ago I hosted a game of seasons and this "new player" joined our game. they were slow at first in selecting cards and then requested to make the game turn based but we thought that they wanted to cancel it instead because they were playing the hard version of seasons as a new player and was slow/seemed to be struggling as normal for a new player in it.Immediately after I saw that it was turned based, I said that I could not do this and was leaving withing 1 hr (i have a life and cant make it on to check all the time and do not want the stress of this!)
We both voted to end the game, but this 3rd player after the request was like i need to leave for 1 hr (day 1 and year1 of seasons) and left. they came back like 2hrs later and had no remorse for any of this and still refused to help end the game. Clearly their whole intent in this game was to try to ruin the game for other people. It took me awhile to even figure out that i could be in 2 games at once.
Then after several hours of this crap, i contacted BGA support and requested them to fix this situation and just end the game. They refused to do this and just told me 1. quit the game and there is no penalty. 2. i told them there was a penalty so they said instead to all agree to abandon the game after i told them that we were in this situation because they refused to abandon or play the game. 3. then when i got the penalty for leaving i wrote them and said this and that I was disappointed about how it was handled. they then acted confused. Fortunately another independent one wrote me at the same time and cancelled my leaving penalty but i think it was based just on the chat. I had decided to leave BGA over this situation only (i do not want to risk this happening again. i do not need the stress of this and BGA does not seem willing to help when there are problems), but i ended up coming back when the guy was nice and got rid of the penalty and apologized for what happened. Overall though i wasted hours of this drama, but they still would not even tell this person that they need to respect other players and not hold us hostage in games like this. I cant even report them.
Anyways fast forward to today. I then get a moderation vio for telling this girl hours later something like you are such a jerk x for wasting so much of my time like this. yeah while I can understand its not nice to say someone is being a jerk, but like literally their whole mission in that game was to be a jerk and ruin the game for us. Also it did not help the situation that BGA refused to help me at all too, so I really had no options there. I ended up having to quit since that was the only way out. It is honestly pathetic too that I end up getting vios for this, and for something that was so minor. like I really wanted to say much more to them but i actually did try to keep it nice. Its honestly a mess when you cant tell someone that is actually being a jerk to you that they are being a jerk! on top of this, i cant even appeal this verdict because they say you have to do this through and email that i never got.
All that happened here is sadly not okay on any level. Like I played here a lot without issues before, but I honestly cant risk running into another player like this, especially when BGA does nothing about it and even gives me vios because they hold me hostage in a game and i try to call them out on their bad behavior but still in a nice way.
