Is it expected that all "recent" (non-Elite league) players will get reset all the way back down to Bronze-1, or are you only supposed to drop back one league?

I worked hard the last couple of days and got myself up to Gold-1 in Res Arcana, and expected to only drop back to Silver-1, but it is now showing me back down to Bronze-1.

No, not only Elite. I have been to Diamond league and been dropped to Silver. It seems it depends on a game: for less popular games it is League minus 1, for more popular League minus 2.

Also, how was the decision to resolve turn-based games made? Was it intended to punish highly rated players by giving them a rush of ties with lower rated players, hurting their rating? If not, will anything be done to resolve these retroactively? I feel like outright voiding all unfinished games would be a better solution that what's been implemented here.

I agree in principle. However, that does not solve the issue of people stalling on purpose late. I think it should just be that you can't lose points unless you are judged the one who delayed the game the most. I lost the Thurn and Taxis arena league because two time ties dropped me out of first.

Is that really a big issue, though? I don't think we should be solving low-impact issues by introducing high-impact ones.

To elaborate, cross-continent TM games can easily take 12+ days with everyone taking turns quickly. So in my situation, BGA matched 4 people up with an impossible time limit, and then penalized both the longest thinker and highest rated player after ~6 days. It didn't feel like any issue was being solved there.

In fact it is more balanced with the luck factor with 2 rounds in this hybrid mode and its known as the original form, wonder why there is no change on the format this season?

Possibly another oversight. There are literally hundreds of games on BGA.

I had two games not finish and I was not the loser in either; however, in Thurn and Taxis it is a 3 player game, so it rated me a tie with the other "winner" and because my ELO was much higher I actually lost arena points. I lost enough points to drop me from Arena champion, to 2nd place (by 1 point).

I think this is a flaw and I should not have lost any Arena points for an unfinished game where I was a "winner".

Really? This is a big problem then. At least it should not decrease points of 'winners', since the game has been essentially canceled.
