First Question where can we learn the algorithym to match players in swiss system for more than 2 players?

1. Try to prevent same players to be opponents twice
2. Don2t bother to do the above

From the drop down menu at the top, select 'play now', then select tournament as game mode.

Bonjour je viens de créer un tournoi "jokari1 "les blaireaux 681 à 7 wonder duel et nous sommes trois participants et jouons en mode "toutes rondes". Toutefois, la dernière manche ne se lance pas. Y a t il un bug ou ai je mal fait une manipulation lors du paramétrage. Merci de votre réponse.

Are there new rules in creating tournaments? Today I tried to invite people to my new tournament and after 51 people I got this error message: "You have reached a limit (invite_tournament)."
What are the invitation rules?

This feature was abused and generated spam complaints.
Thus, tournament invitations are now limited to 50 per day.

There must be some bug, because more than 24 hours passed since my last invite and I still get the same error message.

In round robin tournaments, the tie breaker is the date of registration on BGA.
The "older" player wins over the "younger" one.

As far as I can tell, it is not documented anywhere, but this is also the tie-breaker in elimination tournaments too.

This is grossly unfair. It means that a player who is over time can be elevated above those with time remaining when another over-time player is skipped.

ELO should not be a determining factor for resolving draws.
I don't know what the criteria for doing it that way is, but in my opinion it's not right to determine tournament placing using a factor that comes from outside the tournament.
I don't have much experience with tournaments on BGA, so I don't know if this happens often or not, but it happend to me. And it was on a publisher sponsored tournament, with the chance to participate on a national championship on the line.
At the end of the swiss system tournament I was placed 3rd. Both 2nd and 3rd places ended with same Point total and same Opponent's points total, so it came down to Opponents' average ELO total, with a really small difference (only 23 points).

Last round of the tournament we both played at the same table, where I got 1st palce an he got 2nd. So both of our ELOs went into each other's Opponents' avarage. At that time I had 383 ELO and he 270.

Having a higher ELO made me lose a place in the tournament, even though I won a game against him.

So, what would have happened if instead of playing with my usual account, had I created a brand new one, only to play in this tournament? Since that new account would've had a lower ELO, I would've ended 2nd place, instead of 3rd. The current system encourages players to not use their real accounts to play tournaments.

And just before posting this, I read the previous comment on this topic citing that the date of registration on BGA could also factor in placing? That's just as unfair. Tournaments should work as closed enviroments. Nothing outside the tournament should influence it's results.

Hello,

I am trying to create a new tournament. I have succeeded, but it shows a reward of 0XP. I would like that number to be higher.
I have searched through a number of these posts and can not seem to find the instructions for how to increase the XP reward. Can anyone explain to me how to adjust that?

My apologies if this has already been addressed.

@Jedi_Sidious: XP are added automatically dependend on number of participiants and their ELO. You need at least 10 participants to get above 0 XP.

In my opinion best way to increase XP is to set tournament settings like this:

- at least 10 participants
- set enough time per game (in turn based >3 days per player, i.e. 7 days per game for 2-player-games, 10 days per game for 3-player-games, 14 days per game for 4-player-games)
- open registration early enough, give at least 1 week for registration

One of my friends was kicked from my tournament.

She don't know why : i created the tournament, she was in time, we are between friends... Her name was scratched during her last match, and after she saw that she "finished the tournament" with her name scratched...
