Cloud City is now in alpha!

Post by Kasmilus »

Cloud city is now available for alpha testing.

In Cloud City, you compete against other architects to create the best city planning project to be chosen by the city council. Have your project chosen and built for the people of Cloud City to enjoy!

Develop your city with buildings and build walkways to connect buildings to one another. Walkways earn city council votes and the longer the walkway, the more points. Walkways can earn 1, 2, 3, 5, or 8 city council votes. River walkways connect the smallest buildings, forest walkways connect midsize buildings, and ice walkways connect the tallest buildings. The architect with the city plan that features the most and the longest walkways will win the game!

This is a neat little tile laying game for 2-4 players, designed by Phil Walker-Harding (Sushi Go!, Imhotep, Cacao). You can find out more about the game on BoardGameGeek

i found playing solo was pretty fun trying to get a new high score, 47 is my highest btw and my friend and i have spent some time trying to figure out the maximum with 7 8's being used probably could get to 60? anyway its a fun game , i like the 3-D rendering

There's a post on BGG showing a score of 65! https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/254992 ... ible-score I imagine you could get a bit more with rectangle city variant and bonus scoring tiles...

I recommend playing with other people though. I feel like the limited number of walkways is a really subtle but cool way to make the game more competitive.

Thanks, that guy had his pick of every possible tile at any time, but still interesting. Playing in a real game 50 would be sensational and 60 would be possible, good to know.

This game is too slow. Takes too much time cause of the 3d interractive environnement. I don't know if you can fix this but it would be a must IMO.

That said, it's a pretty nice adaptation.
