You have explained it and I understand. Honestly. My point that I was making is that your suggestion isn't going to go anywhere because NOBODY can agree on ANYTHING on here. I gave some examples, which as you point out, isn't quite the same. But my point is that you won't get everyone to agree what is 'the default act of courtesy'. So either the BGA owners impose a standard etiquette - which seems self-defeating (etiquette is a guidance not a rigid set of rules) - or they just let us get on with it. I am pretty sure they will go for the latter.

Hanabi is a cooperative game. The only 'good' argument imo on this subject, is about elo: you will make him lose elo.
Else, I fully agree with you I should refuse the abandon and force him to concede. But I don't do it myself.
