Displaying warning when editing French or English strings

Post by Phelan »

I've noticed that a lot of people (me included), sometimes translate the english strings to another language.
I believe this is because they are on the english site, and start translating without seeing whether they have their language chosen at the dropbox at the top.

I'm suggesting you should display a warning the first time someone changes an english or french string(since those two are the main languages), to make sure that's what they want to to.

Something like: "You are changing the base english/french translation. Are you sure that's what you want to do?"

This would save a lot of trouble to people that have to go back and restore the previous string.

I believe this is a good idea.

I have more than once reversed other peoples translation of English strings into Russian, Greek etc. Apparently it is too easy to make this mistake so a warning would be in place.

Very good suggestion. I have implemented it for the next release. Hope it will help prevent mistakes!
