Ok see, I knew I was missing something basic. lol. fundamental reading and comprehension skills.

So yeah, I actually was wondering about tournament mode, but I conflated the two in my early morning stupor and asked here.

The time seems very short for a tournament - if everyone else took their turns quickly in the first round and you were in a different time zone, you could eat up all your time in 2-3 turns. I guess tourneys ain't for me :)

Thanks for setting me straight.

What happened here? https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=170947889

My opponent is in a higher league than me (Elite vs Gold). They have a higher ELO at the game. And yet, I got +0 arena points when I won.

I even have it set to prefer playing opponents “at my level” or “near my level +/-1” and the game started before switching to a lesser preferred setting.

Arena should ignore red thumbs. I’ve seen it happen way to often that players give red thumbs to avoid others in arena games. This effectly locks out the red thumbed player of arena games while the red thumb giver is queued.

Hum, sometimes, there are actual goods reasons to put a red thumb in someone's profile's in arena. Like, when he obviously making some move to let someone getting further away (in term of score or distance) of the first place whit some moves. E.G. a saboteur get a win by one of the gold digger, that decieded to let him the win round, when he did get gold for 1st round. Meanwhile, the selfish digger was having a connector to gold and whit no score yet at this exact same place. So, the score get unbalenced because the gold diggers (originals) decieded to not let you get the gold as the selfish, when having no scoring yet, most of the people was having 2 or 3 points (sab was at 2 point for the 1t round), so when the sab winned, he get to 6 or 7 points. Making it won automatically.

And, if you find a cheater (more obvious in chest or some other simple game whit no in-game luck created by the random), then a red thumb can be dropped and if other people get the message, while they are waiting for arena and the cheater might try arena. Then your friends or groups members can red thumb him, before having a very bad gameplay, ruined by a cheater.

Choosing a specific configuration for each game is sometimes a difficult decision. The good news is that if the community is asking for a different configuration for a game, we can change it from one season to another, or make cycles between some configurations (ie: configuration A during Spring season, then configuration B during Summer season, and so on...).
How do I submit such a request?
I am specifically recommending "Advanced variant: yes" to be a default in the next season for "Welcome To".

I agree that this would be a good discussion to have (even though I would vote for sticking with the base game ^_^ )

Is there any chance the Arena rules would change in this case, if the community wanted it?

What causes someone to be matched with the same player so many times? Can there be some way to limit this? It is not fun being forced to play the same person in multiple games at the same time
